The Institute of Physiology of the University of Zurich is located at the Irchel campus, which offers a strong academic environment and first-class research facilities.
Your responsibilities
Our research focuses on interactions between bacterial glycoconjugates and the host immune system. We combine molecular cell biology and chemistry to generate specific glycoproteins and glycolipids enabling the functional investigation of carbohydrate epitopes. We seek to develop and apply chemical approaches to link carbohydrates to functional groups in the context of natural macromolecules.
Your profile
The candidate should have strong experience in carbohydrate chemistry. Background in molecular and cell biology is of advantage but nor prerequisite. The candidate should be able to work independently but also to supervise students and participate to teaching activities. Teamwork and communication skills in English (spoken and written) are of highest importance.
